        by Fr. A.F. Rojas
ONE LAST CHANCE TO STOP THE ASSISTED SUICIDE BILL FROM BECOMING LAW IN NEW YORK
Notwithstanding the shameful decisions of the N.Y.S. Legislature, Governor Hochul has not yet showed her hand regarding the "Medical Aid in Dying Bill" that would legalize euthanasia in our state. Thus, let's 1) pray for the conversion of Gov. Hochul and 2) call her office starting Mon. June 16 (open 9-5) to urge her veto. Please stay on the line until you get a live staffer, who will ask your name and zip code in order to convey your message to the Governor. Thank you for praying and working towards a miracle!

Grohe Hall (basement) of Sacred Heart Church, 1055 Broadway, Esopus. Families with children old enough to understand are welcome as well as individuals.

        by Parish Staff
ANOTHER EXTRAORDINARY STEP FORWARD: First Wedding in Ext. Form in 60+ Years at Sacred Heart!
Our parishioners Sean and Xia Woltman were united in the sacramental bond of Holy Matrimony on Saturday, May 24th at Sacred Heart Church. This convalidation of a hitherto civil marriage was historic not only for them but for our parish as their nuptial rites followed to the 1962 "Roman Missal," which was a first not only in the tenure and the priesthood of Fr. Arthur Rojas, our pastor, but also the first time in several decades at our parish. Fr. Rojas witnessed the exchange of consent at the ceremony, where he literally "tied the knot" with his stole, followed by a Missa Cantata with nuptial blessing by Fr. Marc Oliver. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Woltman!!! Alleluia!

SAVE THE DATE: Thursday, May 29th (ASCENSION THURSDAY, a holy day of obligation)
As Catholics, we hold that the Risen Christ ascended into Heaven in body and soul 40 days after Easter Sunday. Thus, we honor the day, known as Ascension Thursday, with Holy Mass offered as a binding obligation to the Catholic faithful. Join us at Mass as follows: 8 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the Ordinary Form at Presentation Church, 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in the Extraordinary Form with confessions heard before from 10:45 to 11:15 a.m. "Christ is ascended! From Earth to Heaven!"
